	Students learn that substances can be purified by distillation (physical method). They are asked to perform a practical experiment of the theoretical notions by distilling a mixture of water and alcohol. 	Purify substances by sublimation Students are asked to perform an experiment in order to learn more about the sublimation phenomenon. The substances used are Naphthalene and the benzoic acid (a food preservative) that have the property of sublimating.
	Pure substances and impure substances Students learns, using a practical exercise, that substances can be pure or impure. They are asked to dissolve two pieces of sugar, one pure and one impure with coal dust. After the dissolution of the impure piece of sugar, students notice the residue left on the bottom of the beaker.
