Teachers will have an international digital library

13 October 2009

ASPECT project involves experts from 9 Ministries of Education across Europe

Bucharest, 13 October 2009 - Can you imagine a library of educational resources selected from around the world, which teachers can access at anytime? It is not a picture from a movie, but almost a fact. ASPECT project (Adopting Standards and Specifications for Educational Content), in which SIVECO Romania is partner aims at enriching the existing library with valuable educational content, which teachers can easily access and from which they can choose any desired material, for classrooms usage.

The ASPECT project is taking important steps in addressing the potentially damaging "disconnection" between experts and standardization specialised organizations, on one hand, and educational policy makers, ICT advisers and practitioners, on the other hand.

"From the perspective of the Ministries of Education implied in this project, or their designated national agencies, a key result would be that the teachers’ point of view, as well as that of technical experts will be taken into account during the pre-standardization process. The project emphasis a strong research and innovation component in standardization of digital educational resources," states Delia Oprea, ASPECT Project Coordinator within SIVECO Romania.
